Solution: Why is Firefox opening New Tab Adjacent to Current/Original tab?

You have updated Firefox and now New Tabs are opening on the right side of the current tab?

You want the new Tab to open to the Far right side: that is after the last tab?

In previous Firefox versions, new tabs would open at the end after the last tab but after a certain version, they changed this feature.

If you want the new tabs to still open at the end, then follow these steps.

Open Firefox and type this in the address bar:

about:config

A warning page will open: Click on:

I’ll be careful…

Now in the address bar that is in front of this heading: Filter

Type this:

browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent

Double click on the Boolean Entry that will show up: this will make the Value False.

Restart Firefox: Now New Tabs should open at the end.

If anyone is still using Flock [The Browser] and want it to open new tabs at the end, then follow all the above mentioned steps: in the last step, you need to look for the following Boolean Entry:

browser.tabs.openNewTabOnTheRight
